Welcome to my playground

Every now and then, I play around with things. I inevitably lose interest before it reaches any kind of completeness, but sometimes it still feels like the mini-projects deserve to be seen.

Unless I also lose interest in this site, it might become a small collection of those mini-projects.

For now, I will at least try to dig out some of the old ones from my archives

Brushes

With AI agents available to make your code for you, I decided to see how well it would work to make the AI write a new version of my old self portrait generator from 2017. I have not written a single line of this code myself, only told Augment Agent what I wanted from it.

To me, the fun stuff happens if you press "p" to change palette, and then "w" to generate a new palette. You might need to press it a few times to get a good one.

The AI did alright, I think

Bubbles

As part of a customer project, I made something using matter.js that had a slight feeling of the old game Bubble Bobble. Later the same week, I played around a bit more.

Sketches

We went to Amsterdam for holiday, and visited the Van Gogh museum. The evenings, we spent in the comfortable sofas in a stylish flat in the Hoofddorppleinburt area, drinking drinks and finding an outlet for the inspiration we received.

Me, I tried to get the javascript version of Processing to produce something that looked like brush strokes.

I think the "free range" version turned out best, but there are also some other options.

Goggles

Someone on Twitter had seen an image effect that they wanted to use for an album cover.

I figured that I could see how the effect was made, so I remade it in a flexible way using Javascript
